Statistical Tables

Command: Math -> Statistical Tables...

DataLab provides a facility to calculate the following of the most important statistical tables (command Math/Statistical Tables):

You may use these tables in a two-fold manner: (1) to find the level of significance for a given test statistic, and (2) to calculate the critical value of a statistic when the level of significance and the number of degrees of freedom are given. The selected distribution together with the critical value and the associated probabilities is also shown graphically.

Finding the probability for a given statistic (left pane):

  1. select the appropriate sampling distribution by clicking the corresponding tab at the top
  2. enter the number of degrees of freedom (if appropriate)
  3. enter the value of the test statistic
  4. read the level of significance of alpha

Calculating critical value(s) (right pane):

  1. select the appropriate sampling distribution by clicking the corresponding tab at the top
  2. enter the number of degrees of freedom (if appropriate)
  3. enter the level of significance
  4. make your selection whether to perform a one sided, or a two sided test
  5. read the critical value
