Customization of DataLabStartup Logo The startup logo may be adjusted to the users need by exchanging the bitmap file DLABLOGO.BMP in the DataLab directory by a customized image.
Adjusting the language The identifiers, captions and messages used by DataLab can be adjusted to the users needs by editing the file datalab.itl. When clicking the command Setup/Language the user may select from several customization files (file extension itl) containing the translations for various languages. The selected itl file replaces the file datalab.itl causing DataLab to use the new translations after the next re-start. The principle of the translation is as follows: each button, each caption and each text output is defined internally by a suitable identifier in English which already represents the final output for short strings. Long strings, such as error messages, are internally represented by a short identifier starting with the substring "MSG_". The translation of the identifiers is carried out by comparing the identifier with the list of identifiers stored in the file datalab.itl. If a translation exists, the translated string is displayed, otherwise the original internal representation is used.
The syntax of an itl file is defined as follows: Comment lines start with a hash character (#). A translation definition starts with the identifier in square brackets followed by an equal sign and the translation string. The entry is closed by the substring "|$$":
[identifier]=translated text|$$
