Edit Headings

Command: Edit -> Headings -> Columns/Rows

This command allows to change row and column identifiers. After clicking Edit/Headings you have to select either rows or columns. Afterwards the matrix viewer window switches to the appropriate page of the tabbed viewer (table of columns/rows). You may then directly enter the new identifiers into the proper cell. Each identifier is restricted to a maximum number of 50 characters. Entering more than 50 characters truncates the particular identifier after the 50th character.

Please note that the table of columns/rows has two operating modes indicated by two buttons at the top left and the background color:

Mode Button Color Explanation
Edit yellowish In the edit mode you can enter alphanumeric values in any cell. For columns you can also select the variable type of the corresponding variable and its levels (in case of ordinal or nominal variables).
Select white In selection mode you can select one or more cells with the mouse and perform copy/paste operations.

Hint: If you want to create headings using a regular pattern you should use the Headings Generator.
